    Golden Milk Recipe

    Golden Milk Recipe

Variations of Golden Milk have been consumed across the world for hundreds if not thousands of years! It was likely first consumed in India as a potent heath tonic and Ayurvedic medicine.

There are several variations of this drink but the core ingredients are: Turmeric, Black Pepper, and some sort of fat.

Turmeric is one of the most researched natural health products with a long list of benefits. It’s main constituent is Curcumin which has been studied as a potent anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer agent, natural antidepressant, cholesterol-lowering compound, anti-diabetic and much more. Turmeric as a whole plant is recommended as it contains several other beneficial compounds especially in its fresh root form.

Both black pepper and fat dramatically increase the absorption of Curcumin as well as other “curcuminoids” therefore turmeric should always be consumed with these whenever possible.

    Golden Milk Paste Ingredients:

1 TBSP Organic Turmeric Root peeled (can use powder instead of fresh root)

1/2 TBSP Organic Ginger Root peeled (can use powder instead of fresh root)

    1 tsp Ceylon Cinnamon

    ¼ tsp ground Clove

    ¼ tsp ground Black Pepper

    1 tsp Raw Unpasteurized Honey

¼ cup (4 TBSP) Organic Coconut Oil (can use grass-fed Ghee as an alternative)

    Instructions:

    • Place ingredients in a small food processor, blender, or mortal & pestle and mix until a smooth paste is formed. Store in a glass jar in the fridge
    • *To make golden milk, heat up milk of choice in a pot until warm and mix in ~1 TBSP of Golden Milk Paste. You can blend them them together for a frothier drink.

*It is highly recommended to use raw dairy products or plant-based milks for the best medicinal effects.

Sprinkle some cinnamon on top if you like and enjoy!
