Beef Tongue Tacos

Of all the organ meats we have had thus far, thus one is actually the most delicious. Dr. Chell prepared this so that it tasted just like pulled pork, and one beef tongue ended up providing each of us with 4 separate meals!
This versatile fatty meat is rich in zinc, potassium, iron, B12, and choline making it LOADED with bioavailable nutrients that are great for both your immune & nervous system!
We got ours from a local farm and honestly, it was freaking amazing. Just don’t look at it before it gets to the pulled pork stage if you are squeamish about the idea of eating tongue like Dr. Mar was!

  • Slow cooker

Slow Cooker Ingredients

  • 1 Grass-fed beef tongue
  • 1 Large onion
  • 3 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 pinch salt

Seasoned Pulled Tongue Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper

Slow Cook the Beef Tongue

  • Place beef tongue in a slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, and a healthy sprinkle of salt
  • Fill slow cooker with enough filtered water/broth to just cover tongue and cook on low for 8 hours
  • Remove tongue from slow cooker and remove outer layer (it should peel off easily - don’t burn yourself pls)
  • Use two forks to separate tongue into small pieces resembling pulled pork
  • Reserve broth for future use. We typically freeze it in ice cube trays to add to smoothies

Pan Cook the Beef Tongue

  • Add pulled tongue to a pan with cooking oil of choice (we used lard) on low-medium heat
  • Add above spices, stir, and cook until desired texture
  • Pretend its pulled pork and ENJOY!
