Anti-Inflammatory Golden Milk

GOLDEN MILK

Golden Milk (aka the nectar of the Gods 😇)⁣⁣⁣ is an excellent anti-inflammatory drink to start off/finish the day. Golden Milk is an ancient recipe from Ayurvedic medicine that has been used for thousands of years as an overall health tonic. There are several variations but this is my favourite way to make it:⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Equipment

  • Magic Bullet or Food Processor

Ingredients
  

Golden Milk Paste:⁣⁣⁣⁣ (to be stored in fridge for future use)

  • Handful Equal parts peeled whole ginger and turmeric root *Powder works too!
  • Melted coconut oil⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ *Enough to cover ginger and turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper *Increases absorption of beneficial compounds ⁣in turmeric

Golden Milk ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Tea

  • 1 tbsp Golden milk paste⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
  • 1/2 cup Full fat canned coconut milk⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
  • 1/2 cup Boiling water⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp Ground ginger
  • 1 pinch Ground clove
  • 1 tsp Sweetner of choice Honey, maple syrup, stevia, monkfruit or liqorice powder

Optional add ins:

  • 2 tbsp Collagen powder⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
  • 1 tsp MCT oil⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Instructions
 

Golden Milk Paste

  • Blend together in a magic bullet or food processor until smooth paste is formed
  • Store in a glass jar in fridge

Golden Milk Tea

  • Add all ingredients together on the stove. Stir until warm
  • Remove from heat and place all ingredients into a blender (or blend with hand mixer) and blend until frothy. Consume⁣⁣⁣⁣

Notes

Any type of milk can be used
